Each Sparx Deburring Disc deburrs approximately 200 pairs of skates and is compatible with all steel types, including coated, mirrored, and painted steel. When a disc is fully utilized, simply remove and replace it with a new one — no tools required.

Simple and easy to use, slick, and I'm talking when you feel that edge after deburring you'll say you've never felt it that perfectly smooth before. I didn't have the room to lay it flat and the vertical stand wouldn't have had a place so I had to be a bit creative to use the screw holes on the back to do a wall mount but figured it out and its over my Sparkx sharpener on a slight angled mount which is nice and ergonomical. Love this thing!

One of the challenges with sharpening your own blades is the final touches - like deburring the edges. Using a flat stone can be tricky, takes practice and is something my 10yr old can't do - although he uses our Sparx 3 to sharpen his own skates.
Enter the Sparx SAMURAI. Sharpen, then simply run the blades through a single SAMURAI pass each side and it's all done - consistently every time. Now the 10 yr old can do the whole bit.

I honestly didn’t fully understand what proper deburring was supposed to feel like until I started using the Sparx Samurai. It works phenomenally and gives the edges a super smooth, consistent finish that immediately feels more professional.
I still keep a gummy stone around for goalie skates and a few situations where the skate or holder doesn’t fit the machine well, but for normal player skates this thing is awesome. My friends and clients genuinely notice and appreciate the difference.
One thing worth mentioning: my first deburring ring seemed to have a defect. It was leaving behind streaks/residue that I could wipe off with a scour pad, but I didn’t want to be doing that on clients’ or friends’ higher end blades. I reached out to Sparx right away and they immediately sent me a replacement ring. The new one worked exponentially better and completely changed the experience.

My Sparx skate sharpener has always made short work of the first step in sharpening my hockey skates. It was always the second step of deburring the edges by hand that took most of the time to get a good edge. That is why I decided to invest in the Sparx Samurai deburring tool. My Sparx Samurai now makes the complete sharpening process so much faster and easier. With my Samurai, I can now debur my skate blades in less than a minute and it produces an excellent edge every time.
